Artists Profiles 1 & 2: 



Henry Peach Robison (1830-1901) - was an English pictorialist photographer know for his printing/joining multiple negatives or prints to form a  single image. 






Lewis Hine (1874-1940) - was a photographer and sociologist. Who used his camera for social reform. His photographs were instrumental in changing child labor laws in the United States.






Artist Profiles 3 & 4:



Alice Boughton (1866-1943) - she was an early 20th century American photographer known for her theatrical figures of her time. 






Jody Ake () - Ake is one of handful of contemporary artist. Who captures nude portraits down to city landscapes hand-mixing chemicals for every exposure.   






Artist Profiles 5 & 6: 


The FSA was a Resettlement administration that was created in 1935. Where new deals were created to assist poor farmers. Which helped photographers capture the rough times and setup perfect shots.

Dorothea Lange (1895-1965) - born in Hoboken New Jersey. She was an american documentary photographer and photojournalist.




Arthur Rothstein (1915-1985) - born in New York City, New York. He was american photographer. He's known as one of the best photojournalist.





Artist Profiles 7, 8 & 9 


Bill Brandt (1904-1983) - He was known for his British magazines. Which later after that he was known for his landscapes and portraits on famous artist. He is considered one of the most important British photographers.




Walker Evans (1903-1975) - He was known best for his Farm Security Administration (FSA) capturing pictures during the Great Depression. 




Brett Weston (1911-1993) - They described him as a "child genus of American photography". He was the second of four sons of photographer Edward Weston and Flora Chandler.




Artist Profiles 10, 11 & 12

W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) - He was an American photojournalist who was dedicated to his projects and uncompromising professional and ethical studies. Who developed photo essays into a sophisticated visual form.   




Paul Strand (1890-1976) - He was an American photographer and filmmaker. Edward Weston, Alfred Stieglitz all helped one another to establish photography as an art form. 




Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004) - He was a French humanist photographer who is known as the best "candid" photography. He pioneered the genre of street photography.




Artist Profiles 13, 14 & 15 


Mary Ellen Mark-Booth (1940-2015) - She achieved worldwide success through her numerous books and her photo essays and portraits in LIFE magazine, as well as New York Times Magazine.




Garry Winogrand-Street (1928-1984) - He was a street photographer from the Bronx. Known for his social issues and portrayal of American life in the 20th century.




Diana Arbus-Portraiture (1923-1971) - She was an American photographer and writer. Known for her marginalized people such as, dwarfs, giants, transgender, nudist. Etc.
